Ahh.... family time.... everybody's soooo exicited.... can't you tell?
What a great idea... just a brilliant idea... on this beautiful, thankfully cool, overcast fall day! "Let's go hike the falls," the husband says. Amazingly, both girls were pumped, ready to head out for a day of hiking in the mountains. I, on the other hand, have hiked the falls before and knew what we were going to encounter.
Well.... I wasn't quite expecting to encounter this!
Spooooooky, huh? Not! Smokers nearby.... But I did have some real fun with this picture.... had the whole family seeing ghosts!
Lots of laughs and lots of pain (hiking back up those falls is rough)! Just so happened that someone told the oldest that the trail reminded him of a scene from a scary movie when we got to the bottom. Guess who beat us back to the top by a good 20 minutes? All you could see were white cheerleading shoes zig-zagging up the side of the mountain until they were out of sight! All in all, we had a spectacular day taking in God's creation, but most importantly, we were able to share it as a family...
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world."
(Psalm 19:1-4; cf. Psalm 97:6)
