Post Election News

I was completely taken aback last night at work when I saw something I had never seen before. Around 10 pm, as I was on my way to the staff elevator, I encountered numerous housekeeping carts in the hallway. I didn't even know they had that many at our hospital, and I was definitely perplexed as to why they were parked out in the open, not stored in a closet somewhere. Then as I got a little closer, I noticed a crowd of hospital employees sitting in a waiting room, watching TV; not working, watching TV. Granted, it appears from my quick glimpse that they were engaged in an entertaining and inspiring TV moment, I couldn't help but feel somewhat put off. I, as a nurse, was taking care of patients, and had to check the news way late into the night. There was no time for me to stop, get with a group of my friends and watch TV while the rest of the hospital buzzed around me....Since I had never witnessed anything like this at the hospital, I can assure you that I was somewhat resentful and worried. Worried that the very reasons that make our country great: hard work, accountability, determination, and personal responsibility might have a new buzz word replacement: spread the wealth, but at the hard working, accountable, and determined's expense. Please join me in prayer for our newly elected leaders, God is in control.....
