Growing up in a small town, one of my favorite memories was going to the men's fast-pitch softball tournaments. The stands would be packed as our team faced off against some big city team! My favorite player was Ronnie "Bones" Jones... he could pitch so fast you could hardly see the ball... a legend (as far as I was concerned) in his own time. Earlier tonight, he passed away.... way too soon for his family and friends. My friend, his neice, just summed up this really tragic night with some precious words to her daughter, "don't you know that MawMaw (Ronnie's Mother) is so happy to see him?" To which we all agreed. His last moments were at home, playing with his grandson, and he was taken away in an instant, far too soon for us.
"Bones" will be missed, sorely, by his large family of friends and loved ones. He was a Christian husband, father, and friend to all who knew him.....
The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death. Isaiah 57:1-2
