What a beautiful world we have been given by our Heavenly Father! There's never enough time to soak up it's splendor, I can never get enough time at the beach... but we were blessed to take a quick anniversary trip to Pensacola Beach, Florida. Just the two of us, no kids, and no dogs.... guess what we talked about most? The kids and the dogs... imagine that..... Our balcony hosted a breath taking view that drew us in and I quickly determined this would be my favorite place....
A quick look down and I was convinced that my second favorite place would be looking across the dunes from a comfy chair!
Our first day was just spectacular.... I read a Ted Dekker book, "Three," as the hubby went to check out the mysterious humps on the sandbar a few yards out...
Wow.... guess what? They were huge jelly fish and there were hundreds of them, stranded between the sandbar and the beach!
After lots of sun and plenty of sand, our second day we took a stroll down the streets of downtown Pensacola. In search of Pensacola's Civil War Museum, we broke out the Garmin.... and we walked, and we walked, and we walked.....
.... we found everything but the Civil War Museum (it's no longer open, BTW)...
We finally found our way back to our home away from home.... There was a scene straight out of "The Birds" awaiting us on the beach.... I elected to play it safe and head to the pool while the hubby checked out the disturbance on the beach and I walked straight into this thing! Yikes! Way too big for me, I beat a hasty retreat, but turned around long enough to snap a picture. It headed straight for me, of course, I screamed, and it left.... thank goodness!
One last romantic night to take in the leisure life and then we're on the way back to reality.... and boy, we were happy to get back.... to the kids, and the dogs, and the laundry, and the housework that seemed to grow while we were gone.... back to the good stuff, the important stuff.... we are blessed....
