Mother's Day 2009...from the husband's perspective...

When I came home from work Mother's Day morning.... I gave the hubby ample time to just say it.... I was feeling sorry for myself, the girls weren't home.... I just wanted him to say it....
SO.... as I'm about to head to bed... I say, "You know, I know I'm not your mother, but I could really use a "Happy Mother's Day" right now; I'm missing the girls, and I really need to hear it..." To which he responds, "You didn't see your card? You looked straight at it when you were in the kitchen." Tickled to death with his sensitivity, I head back to the kitchen and search for the card that was in plain sight! And then... I open it....
We laughed and laughed! His gesture could not have been more perfect, completely sensitive to my petty little needs! I am blessed.....

Mother's Day 2009

Words cannot express how blessed we are.... We have all that we need, we have our health (most of the time), and we have.... most importantly... love for each other. We don't always get along, we have our ups and downs, but the ties that bind our hearts together are laced with love.
My two beautiful daughters found a smidgen of time to surprise me before work on Mother's Day with this beautiful wall hanging that I will cherish forever.
I was blessed to share Mother's Day, not with my own children, but with precious little souls who need inpatient medical care. I missed my children dearly, but I trust God has many reasons we shared only a few precious moments together this year.
I missed my sharing time with my own mother, but my precious husband was able to spend time with her in my place.
So.... for many things I am thankful.... I'm thankful that I have a wonderful family that loves each other when we're together, and when we're not. I'm thankful that our two beautiful daughters are growing up into beautiful young ladies that I'm proud of.... and mostly, I'm thankful that God has seen fit to place this wonderful family in my life....
Happy Mother's Day to all.... we are blessed....
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.~ Psalm 127:3
